Moving and buying property
Moving or bought a property in Spain? We put the electricity in your name.
Change of account holder, reconnection if the supply was cut off, and gas if there is any. We handle the paperwork, in English, and leave you on a tariff that suits you from day one. Free, with no power cuts.
What we do for you
Everything that needs changing when you move home.
Change of account holder
We move the electricity contract into your name, so the previous owner cannot cancel it and their bills never reach you.
Reconnection if the power was cut
If the property has been without supply for a while, we arrange the new connection with the distributor and tell you whether a certificate is needed.
Gas as well
If the property has mains gas, we change it at the same time: one process and one person to talk to.
The right tariff
We use the change to set the power and tariff to how you will actually use the house. It is the best moment to stop overpaying.
No power cuts
The change is purely administrative: the wiring and the meter stay the same. You are never left without electricity.
What you need
Have these to hand and we do the rest.
- Your NIE or passport
- A previous bill for the property (for the CUPS code). If you don't have one, we find it for you
- The deeds or purchase contract, or your rental contract
- A bank account (IBAN) for the direct debit
You can send it all by WhatsApp as photos from your phone.
How it works
Three steps and the electricity is in your name.
Leave your details
Your name and phone number are enough to start.
We ask for the documents
By WhatsApp or email, whatever suits you.
We process it and keep you posted
Usually within a few days. We explain every step.
It's free for you
We earn a commission from the supplier only if you sign up with them through us. Never from you.
FAQ
What people ask us most when they move.
How much does a change of account holder cost in Spain?
It is usually free if the contracted power stays the same. Costs can appear if the power changes, if the installation needs a new certificate (boletín) or if the supplier asks for a deposit. We tell you before doing anything.
How long does it take?
Usually between a few days and two weeks. There is no power cut during the process.
Do I need the previous owner's permission?
Usually not: it is enough to show that you are the new owner or tenant, with the deeds or the contract.
What if the property has been without power for a while?
Then it is a new connection. If the installation is old, an updated certificate from an authorised electrician may be needed. We explain it and help you arrange it.
