Change of account holder in Torrevieja
Put the electricity in your name in Torrevieja.
You've bought or rented and the electricity is still in the previous owner's name. We put it in your name with no power cut and no trips to any office.
We handle it in Torrevieja, La Mata, Los Balcones and nearby, also for buyers from abroad, and we explain everything in English. We also check the power and tariff, which are often badly set by the previous owner.
What you need
The documents for the change of holder.
Passport or NIE
Of the new holder. If you don't have your NIE yet, tell us what you have and we'll tell you what each supplier accepts.
Deeds or rental contract
The deeds (escritura) or land registry note if you bought, or the rental contract if you rent.
CUPS number
It's on any old bill. If you don't have one, we'll help you find it.
Bank account
The IBAN of the account where you want the bills to be paid.
Photo of the meter
Optional, but it stops the previous holder's usage ending up on your first bill.
Electrical certificate, only sometimes
If the installation is very old or the supply has been off for a long time, the network operator may ask for a certificate from an authorised electrician. We'll tell you at the start.
How it works
No queues, no power cuts.
Send us the documents
By WhatsApp or through the website. Phone photos are fine.
We check power and tariff
Before the change, so you don't keep the previous owner's settings if they don't suit you.
We handle it
With the supplier and the network operator. We let you know when it's done.
Our service is free
We are paid a commission by the supplier only if you switch tariff with us. If any step has a cost (more power or a certificate), we tell you first.
FAQ
Questions about changing the holder in Torrevieja.
Do I need the previous owner?
Usually not. The deeds, land registry note or rental contract plus the supply details are normally enough.
Will the power be cut during the change?
No. Changing the holder is paperwork only: the house keeps its power the whole time and the meter stays the same.
How long does it take?
Usually a few days. If a new certificate or a power change is needed it can take longer; we'll tell you the timing for your case at the start.
Does it cost anything?
If the power isn't changed, the supplier usually doesn't charge for a change of holder. Our service is free for you.
What if the previous holder had a lock-in or debts?
We'll tell you before you sign anything: sometimes a new contract in your name is better than taking over theirs.
